Could you use a New Life? How about a fresh start?
In the beginning God created everything (Gen 1:1-27, John 1:1-14). Nothing can’t creation something, but God who hangs the earth on nothing, and has created more than 10 quadrillion stars is able to create something from nothing, give it life or make a life new again!
Isaiah 43:19a Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth;
With the one word of, “Behold”, we see God, the Great Creator and Gardener as He plants a seed of hope in our hearts and tells us that He can do something NEW in our hearts that will spring forth and grow. God loves to build and grow His creation which is…you!
Unfortunately, there is an enemy that wants to destroy what God builds and that is the adversary of God, Satan. John 10:10a The thief (Satan) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy:
The devil and sin are real, but what is the proof? Think about how no one has to show their children how to lie, cheat, steal, hate, hurt, or disobey. Why? Because by nature we innately know how to do wrong (sin) because we are born into sin, and the proof we have sinned will be our death (Psalms 51:5, Romans 3:10, 3:23, 5:12, 6:23a). To convict us of wrong, God uses our the moral law that He built into us, our guilty conscience. The moral laws or the 10 commandments, are found in Exodus 20:3-17, Deuteronomy 5:7-21, and they are summarized into 2 commandments in Matthew 22:37-40. But let me ask you….
Do you think you are a good person?
How many times have you not worshipped God first before other things? 1st Commandment
How many times have you put other things before God? 10th Commandment
How many lies have you told in your life time? 9th Commandment
How many things have you taken without permission? 8th Commandment
How many times have you disobeyed parental authority? 5th Commandment
How many times have you used God’s name in a curse word? 3rd Commandment
This is just 6 of the 10 commandments, but 1 lie or 1 broken commandment is enough to separate us from God in a place called Hell (Daniel 12:2, Matthew 25:41, Luke 16:23-24). No one born of man is perfect in thought, word and deed, we have all fallen short (Romans 3:23). In our foolishness, we think God will overlook our sin because He is good and merciful, but God is a just God, and because He is just, He demands that there be justice. Remember, that an earthly judge will not let a lying law breaker go free, neither will God who is the judge of the universe! So what is our hope?
John 10:10b I (JESUS CHRIST) am come that they might have (NEW) life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Imagine you are guilty law breaker who can’t pay his fines. You are standing before a judge who is about to sentence you and send you off with the bailiff to prison for your crimes, but into the courtroom bursts an innocent, perfect man who tells the judge, “I will pay the fine and take the punishment for their crimes.” The choice is then yours, and you then must decide. Either you pay for your crimes (sins), or let the innocent savior and redeemer pay for them.
As prophesied for centuries (Isaiah 7:14, 9:6, 53:1-12), God became a man in human flesh over 2,000 years ago (John 1:14, Hebrews 2:14). God (Jehovah Elohim) revealed his name as The Lord Jesus Christ, and Jesus’ name means “Joshua” or “Jehovah Saves”. Jesus the Messiah came to fulfill perfectly the moral law of God that you could not. Jesus became the Savior by dying on a cross, shedding His sinless blood, and giving up His innocent life for us (John 3:15-18), and He was buried and rose again the 3rd day as prophesied (Romans 10:9, I Corinthians 15:3-4).
Scripture is clear that all those who repent and trust in Jesus Christ will be raised to eternal NEW life just as He was (1 Corinthians 15:20-23), and He will forgive us of our sins and remember them no more (Isaiah 43:25, Psalms 103:12). Jesus’ resurrection proves His victory over sin and provides us the power to live victoriously over sin (1 Corinthians 15:24-34) and now we can have NEW LIFE!
II Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature (creation): old things are passed away; behold, ALL things are become NEW (Life).
We must repent of our sinfulness and breaking of God’s laws, and put our faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to save us from our sins, from death, and from Hell (Luke 13:3,5, Revelation 20:14-15, 21:8). There is no way to get forgiveness, eternal life, and a personal relationship with God, other than by putting your faith and trust in Jesus Christ the Messiah as your God and Savior.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Right now, you can pray from your repentant heart to the Lord Jesus Christ as your God and Savior who has the power to forgive you, save you, and give you NEW LIFE in Jesus Christ! (Ephesians 2:8-9, Titus 3:5-7, Romans 10:9-13).
